The Beach

So at the end of Sept. we took a family vacation to Disney Land.  It was amazing and wonderful and awesome.  We arrived in California Sat. night along with James' mom and dad.  So on Sunday after church and naps we decided to head over to the beach.  Karen (James' mom) had never been to the beach before and neither had any of our children.  We had lots of fun.
Erin and Lily loved splashing and having the waves push them around (as long as they had someone to hold on to at least.)
There is an extra little girl in a lot of the pictures, this is because Lily was her true self and became fast friends with another little girl their.

Grandpa Jim LOVED the beach.  I have never seen him have so much fun.  Grandma on the other hand didn't really love the ocean.
Van didn't really like the water either.  But he did enjoy eating as much sand as he could.
Kaylee didn't love the water but she did love chasing the seagulls.
When she got close enough they would fly away and the she would out her hand to her mouth and say uh oh.  It was darling.
We had a fun time and while we all enjoyed something different we all enjoyed ourselves.

A Miracle

I witnessed a miracle.  2 weeks ago late Friday afternoon, Erin and Lily went to play with the neighbors, Van had just woken up from his nap and I was getting ready to feed him, and Kaylee was upstairs playing.  Than I heard Kaylee screaming and it sounded like she was outside.  Unwilling to believe she was outside I ran upstairs to find the bedroom window wide open and yes I could hear Kaylee screaming outside.  My heart dropped, Kaylee fell out of the second story window right onto the drive way below.  I ran outside and my wonderful neighbor across the street was already to Kaylee assessing the situation (he is a cop.)  He said by them time he got there Kaylee was standing up and walking over to the door which was amazing. But still afraid of what might have happened to her little body we called 911.
They came and their quick assessment was she looked great but again still afraid of what might have happened that was unseen, they strapped her to a board and put a neck brace on her and off we went to the hospital.  (My wonderful neighbors stepped in and took the rest of our kids so to relive some of my stress.  They were a few of the angels that helped us out that day.)  Once to the hospital they wanted to do a CT scan.  But first they wanted to sedate her so she wouldn't wiggle so much.  After and hour and a half and 5 failed attempts at putting an IV in (this was very upsetting to both Kaylee and I) they finally just took her back, and she did fine through the CT scan.
They found what they called a phenmothorax (sp?) in her lung. Basically the impact of the fall caused a small hole in her lung and a little bit of air leaked out.  But we were all very amazed that her neck, spine and head were in impeccable shape. Still worried that there might be something more and wanting to watch the phnemothorax we were transferred to Primary Children's.  There assessment there was amazing, they could find nothing. They did keep her over night and through the next afternoon just for observation, yet she was fine.  The x-rays they did there, they could find no phnemothorax.  She sounded great, looked great and acted just like herself.
Still worried, I was instructed to take her to her pediatrician in a week and come back to primarys in 2 weeks, simply to ensure that nothing was missed and she was fine.  Each appointment we just marvel at what a miracle she is.
I am certain that angels were sent her way to catch her that day.  I am so grateful that my prayers to protect my children were answered. I am grateful to the angels seen and unseen that helped us out.  I know the Heavenly Father is looking out for us and does love us and care for us.

family pictures

Yet again I am way behind on what I want to post.  But here's to trying.
At the beginning of the month we had family pictures done. I loved how they turned out. Here are some of my favorites.

We had them done at fotofly in case you are wondering.  I think they do an awesome job there.
