Pumpkin Walk

A bunch of Neighbors and I went to the Benson Gris Mill in Stansbury for a little pumpkin walk friday. It was so cute. There were tons of fun pumkins to look at and lots of fun things to do. We went on a hay ride, there was a little maze for kids, we decorated cookies, there was a treasure sandbox, and much more.

My favortie part was the face painting. They had a large poster with different designs for the kids to choose from, the rest of the kids enjoyed picking out pictures (Jack, rainbow, nemo, spider etc.) Erin pointed to the "e" in "FACE PAINTING" and wanted the letter E because it starts her name. At least the lady doing it was creative and made it fancy. What a silly girl Erin is, I sure love her.

Hair Bows

I have started a hairbow blog. I am excited about it. I have been making and experimenting with bows for a while, and I am finally really happy with what I am making. I started making bows because I wasn't willing to pay what I saw others asking. Since I am not willing to pay that uch, I am also not willing to charge that much, so my bows are much cheaper than I have seen other places. I am also willing to customize to what you want, I do have a large number already made to choose from as well. I hope you all enjoy them and tell your friends. The blog address is busylizzybows.blogspot.com. There is also a link on this blog to it.

Suggestions?

I need help. It is time to start planning enrichment activities for next year, but our ward has struggled with the mini groups. So I would like to know what you have done or seen done in your ward and liked. Any suggestions are most welcomed. Thanks!

Gardner Village

A neighbor and I went to Gardner Village to day with our girls. It was a blast. I love this place, especially at Halloween. The witches were so cute and they had fun arts and crafts and fun Halloween music playing. It was perfect weather today as well.

This is Erin and Breanne. Erin loves Breanne and wants to play with her all the time. They are so cute together.

Lily, Erin, Breanne and Maddie in the carriage. Lily and Maddie didn't like it much.
Lily and Maddie Dancing to Halloween music. I wish you could have seen it.

We made cute witch hats. They were so fun, (At least Rachel and I enjoyed making them for the girls.)

This was such a fun day. Thanks Rachel for coming with me, I had a blast.

Blessed

Last Oct (I believe) Pres. Erying challenged us to write down how we have seen The Lords hand in our lives each day. The Bishop of my ward encouraged this challenge and made it the ward goal. I have been doing my best at following this counsel. In doing so I have come to realize how much My Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me, love me and care about me. Since it has been 1 year, I have been reading through what I have written. Then tonight I had another great little blessing. I would like to share with you a few favorites.

1- Today was a hard day. I ended up putting the girls to bed at 7:45 (1/2 hr early). They had short naps, Erin had two accidents, Lily pulled a plate of frosted cookies down on my floor that had been mopped for about 30sec. I felt like I had cleaned all day and my home was still a mess. Etc, Etc. It was a hard day. I was ready to scream and cry and I wanted to disappear. At about 8:15 the doorbell rang. Confused at who it could be I went to answer, I opened the door and saw no one. Confused and even more frustrated I started closing the door only to notice something sitting on my door step. I was a darling basket full of Halloween treats and a note that I had been "Boo-ed". How extremely simple and silly, but I sat down and cried. Heavenly Father new I needed a boost, and found someone to give me that boost. I am thankful to my Father in Heaven for looking out for me and I am thankful for my neighbor who cared.

2- Last Dec. we went to a choir concert of my moms. It was cold, snowy and icy. Since the concert was in the evening we packed the girls jammies to put them in and then head home. Since Erin was in her jammies I did not want her walking across the icy wet parking lot. So I placed her on my shoulders. When we were about 1/2 way I slipped and fell. I landed on my hands and knees and scrapped them up horribly. Yet somehow the child on my shoulders remained there, perfectly safe.

3- In April I woke up with the stomach flu. I was sick and exhausted and couldn't do anything. Erin (who was defiantly in the midst of terrible 3's) was a perfect angel and extremely helpful. Lily (who has been a very clingy baby) was happy with Erin and easy going. The morning routine exhausted me. I was down. Come lunch time I knew I needed to get up and feed the girls, but I could not find the strength in me. As I lay listening to them, feeling like a terrible mother, I hear Erin find a box of cereal and began feeding it to Lily and herself. She, for one miraculous day was a pure angel and a wonderful little mom. (After realizing that I couldn't even find the energy to feed my girls lunch I did call for help.)

4- May- Erin woke up shortly after falling asleep tonight from what must have been a nightmare. She cried for a long time and was hard to console. I tried to tell her everything was okay as I held her, but she was still having a hard time calming down. I was trying to think of a way to help her understand that a prayer might help calm her, but I just couldn't see it making sense to a 3 year old. Then the thought popped in my head, I am sure as help from the Holy Ghost, to sing "I am a child of God". The effect was immediate. She smiled and said "I sing that in church." After that she slept beautifully.

5- I bought a bunch of wood today to build my gardens. While trying to get it to all fit in my little car I began to be worried. Out of no where a perfect stranger came and helped. I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise.

6- At swim lessons today Erin had to get out and go potty. So I grabbed Lily and took Erin to the potty. While I was helping Erin wash her hands I had to set Lily down. In what felt like 1 second Lily disappeared. I ran looking for her quickly. By the time I saw her she was at the edge of the pool. There was nobody near her. Her feet were over the edge and she was getting ready to jump. I am certain that the only reason she was not in the pool by the time I got there was that some unseen force was holding her out. I have been blessed in so many ways. I know the Lord is watching over us and blesses us daily.

Conference Weekend

What a wonderful weekend. I absolutely love conference. Besides watching conference I did a few other things this weekend.

1- I canned peaches. This is the 1st time I have canned. I went to my moms and she taught me how. My Grandma Baird taught her how. What a wonderful legacy. Someday I will teach my girls how. The peaches turned out great. I ended up with 14 quarts.

2-B-day party for Cody and Samuel. Any reason to get together and have dinner as a family is great, but it was so fun to celebrate with these two. Cody is a wonderful sister-in-law. I have learned a lot from her (just this weekend how to cook an artichoke). And Samuel turned 8!!! What a wonderful age. His dad will be home for his two week leave soon and will baptize him then. How exciting.

3- Gardner Village. I love this place. Although it was rainy and cold so I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted to there. But Erin loved looking at all the silly witches and I got a way cute Halloween wreath.

But the best thing this weekend was defiantly conference. I love listening to the Prophet and Apostles words and learning from them. I feel inspired to be a better person and I feel better equipped to be a better person. I can't wait for the conference Ensign to come out so I can read it and learn even more.

My Little Ballerina

When Erin turned 3 earlier this year I decided to put her in a tumbling class. I was so excited for it. I thought it would be great excersize, and she would have fun. Erin hated it. She refused to practice, she whined about going to class, she didn't listen to her teachers. It was terrible.

But Erin still loved the idea of dance, but she leaned toward ballet. As I was talking with a neighbor she had signed her daughter up for a ballet/tap class and was excited for it. I thought we could give it a try so I signed Erin up as well. She loves it!!! She is excited to go, she even colored a picture for her teacher. I catch her practicing at odd times and when I tell her it's time to practice she does without complaint. I can't believe how well she is doing and how much she enjoys it. it is so cute and they are even learning the ballet terms in french.
